As you can see the Golden Gate Bridge is built right over the Fort Point. Let us move closer along the rusty chains. Look to the left, you can see it much better now. Enter to the Fort's courtyard. Observe casemates, living quarters. Climb up to the top. This is the place where guns stood. City view from the top is beautiful, the wall is thick and sloped. Views of the Golden Gate Bridge from below show how giant the bridge is. The fort looks miniature. The lighthouse is right under the arch of the bridge. Let us go downstairs. Why does the spiral staircase turn right? It means that attackers are expected from the top. Once outside the fort, moving forward you can reach Battery East. This is the trail to the bridge.
