Negation or
"The Other Way Around"

A). Do the opposite action;

B). Make the moveable stationary - and the stationary one - moveable;

C). Turn it upside-down or inside-out.

The opposite:

Constancy

A). Everything must be or stay exactly the same

Synthesis:

Negation of Negation

A). Negate and then negate again, but differently

The main thing to grasp about negation is that it can be done in many different ways.

Examples of Negation

- In mathematics and logic, proof by assuming the opposite;
- "Find a way around" an obstacle, do not go head-on;
- Convert to the opposite (or different which is a form of an opposite), deal with it, and convert back like in signal processing, when an analog signal is digitized, processed (which may include filtration and compression), then converted back to analog form for consumption.
- "If someone tells you that your life is in no danger, and it is";
- One of the best ways to convince someone about something is to make him come to it himself. And the best method to achieve it is to provoke by trying (failingly) to convince him the opposite;
- adopting to the circumstances;
- Writing music in Am key, for example, is the way. Negation would be writing music in C key. It is opposite, but something (fundamental notes) are the same. Negation of negation is a song combining parts in Am and C, which often is a structure of successful musical composition. In other words, rather in TRIZ terms, negation of negation is a Unification of two somewhat opposite parts.

Examples of Constancy

- mass production;
- perseverance;

Rene Descartes. "The Principles of Philosophy". Part 1. Principle 1
"That in order to seek truth, it is necessary once in the course of our life, to doubt, as far as possible, of all things."
